Global, continental and other large scale hydrological models and land surface models can be found in many different contexts. They can form an integral part of atmospheric and climate modelling systems but are increasingly being developed as stand-alone modelling platforms. These models can be used to predict the impact of climate change on river flow, evaluate the quality of atmospheric models, to compute water balances for flood and drought applications or water resource management.

We invite contributions from across the atmospheric, meteorological and hydrological communities describing for large scale hydrological models:
- novel modelling concepts and model design
- techniques and data assimilation methods
- novel data sources (remotely sensed and in in-situ)
- regionalization approaches
- Uncertainty/sensitivity analysis and impact studies of boundary conditions, forcings, model parameters and factors
- Calibration, tuning, optimization techniques
