Multi-scale modelling of potential fields and interpretation of models in terms of sources distribution is a long standing activity. Mathematical spectral tools based on spherical harmonics, focusing on large wavelengths, and local analyses, designed to deal with short wavelengths, are well established. However, very few techniques are currently available for dealing with the intermediate scales of potential field. It remains thus to fill the spectral gap existing between both approaches. And yet, recent achievements in compiling near surface data and satellite missions in the framework of the Earth Explorer program of ESA represent a strong incentive to develop new interpretation tools.
In this session, we invite all kinds of presentations related to magnetic and gravity modelling at all scales on Earth or other planets.
Contributions related to new techniques and tools, and their use for geophysical interpretations, are particularly welcome.
