The purpose is to focus upon the effects of turbulence at different scales in geophysical flows. The importance of a proper parametrization of turbulence in the Atmosphere and in the environment is very important in order to model correctly transport processes. Gaussian diffusion models are too simplistic and the effect of coherent structures and body forces like stratification and rotation need to be considered. For example the role of stratification in vertical mixing is to flatten Reynolds stresses but a detailed knowledge of the influence of the flow topology on mixing efficiency on transport and on diffusion is still needed. Papers are welcomed in theoretical, numerical, field work and experimental contributions dealing with Turbulence in Geophysical and Environmental flows.
