The Alps are one of the world-best studied orogens and therefore an excellent natural laboratory to study orogenic processes. The aim of this session is to bring together contributions from geophysical, metamorphic, structural, thermo-chronological, and sedimentological observations, which contribute to the understanding of the formation and evolution of the Alpine Chain.
