Elastic and Inelastic Properties under in situ High P-T Conditions (co-organized)
Co-Convener: Hans J. Mueller
Poster Programme
 / Attendance Tue, 04 May, 17:30–19:00  / Hall A

This session is focused on elastic and inelastic properties of Earth materials (in form of single and polycrystals, melts, and rock assemblages) measured in laboratory under simulated in situ high P-T conditions of Earth’s interior. We encourage contributions based on recent advancements in various high P-T techniques involving multi-anvil devices, gas apparatus and heated diamond-anvil cells, in conjunction with ultrasonic,
Brillouin scattering, inelastic X-ray scattering and associated synchrotron X-ray techniques. We also welcome contributions in modeling based on the results deduced from seismic and damping studies, as well as deformation studies. Furthermore, we invite contributions in theoretical treatment of experimental high P-T data and interpretation of field seismic studies in light of experimental data.
