For the open session contributions concerning all aspects of the ocean circulation are welcome, reaching from regional to global scale. In particular, this year we would like to encourage studies focussing on the dynamics of ocean boundary layers. As usual the OS1.1 session also encourages submissions that do not fit to any of the other special sessions.
