Marginal marine environments such as fjords act as natural sediment traps and typically have high sediment accumulation rates, providing the potential for high-resolution palaeoclimatic and palaeoenvironmental studies on decadal to centennial timescales and presenting a unique opportunity to study land-ocean interactions.
This session solicits contributions that present new insights to the understanding of fjordic processes, with a particular focus on climate and environmental records from fjords (past and present). We welcome both model and data-based contributions that address fjord processes,
including: physical oceanography, sedimentology, geophysics, palaeo-biology/ecology and palaeoclimate reconstructions.
