PlanetMag is one of the Special Programs (SPP1488) financed by DFG, the German science foundation and addresses the different aspects of planetary magnetism. The aim is to advance our understanding of the diverse manifestations of planetary magnetism in our solar system with a special focus on current and planed space missions. The session follows this theme. Contributions are solicited covering the topics: Measurement techniques and models of planetary magnetic fields, analysis of ancient terrestrial rocks and meteorites, numerical and experimental models of interior properties, dynamics, and magnetic field generation, and the solar wind interaction with the planet. We also invite contribution from authors not taking part in the PlanetMag program.
