Venus Express and Akatsuki

Venus express arrived at Venus in April 2006, and consequently celebrates its 5 years in orbit anniversary during the EGU GA 2011. The Japanese Venus Climate Orbiter, Akatsuki, Arrives at Venus in December 2010. This session will be dedicated to the first scientific results from the Akatsuki mission and to a review of the key findings from the Venus Express mission. For the first time in history an advanced programme of joint in-orbit observations by two different space agencies has been established. The many different aspects of this collaboration will be discussed as well, together with preliminary results of these observations. In addition the session remains open for all kind of science reports related to the studies of the planet Venus, including ground based observations and studies of new missions.
