Thermal structure of the crust and upper mantle from geothermal borehole data, seismic and EM inversions, geochemistry, and geodynamics (co-organized)
Convener: Irina M. Artemieva

This session invites contributions from various disciplines in geophysics, geodynamics, and geochemistry that address thermal regime of the continental and oceanic crust, subcrustal lithosphere, and sublithospheric mantle. We welcome contributions that use conventional borehole data, seismic and EM inversions, geodynamic models of mantle large-scale and small-scale thermal instabilities, xenolith geothermobarometry, and other methods. The session will present overview of the current knowledge on the thermal structure of the upper 400 km in different settings, ranging from Precambrian cratons, to basins, orogens, subduction zones, ocean basins, and other tectonic provinces.
