José Torrent, has been awarded by the European Geosciences Union with the Duchaufour Medal 2012. The scientist José Torrent is highly respected as a leading researcher within the Soil System Sciences for his contribution to understand the mineralogy of the iron oxides and the geochemistry of phosphorus. Professor Torrent is an example of dedication to the Soil Science and education.
Dr. Torrent has strongly contributed to the advancement of the Soil Science by several studies carried out in the last decades. He published more than 150 research articles in more than 50 journals, with an H-number of 31. His impact on the soil science and related disciplines was definitive to be selected as the 2012 Duchaufour medal by the EGU.
