This session addresses education and communication issues related to the development and use of Space Technologies and GIS for societal benefits. The main purpose of this session is to fill the gaps between research communities, enterprises working on added value products and potential final users of such products. Adoption by end users of innovative solutions strongly depend on the quality of the research products (fitting or not actual user needs, being or not economically sustainable) and on the possibility for potential users to know, to appreciate and to apply such new solutions.
Although we welcome all contributions in this specific topic, we are particularly interested in:

- the demonstration of the operational use of Space Technologies & GIS in real cases
- innovative methods, tools, programs and example of good practices for education of: i) students at all levels up to the postdoctoral level; ii) professionals within enterprises, Local and Regional Authorities, Governmental Agencies etc.
- innovative methods, tools, plans for the divulgation of Space Technologies concepts and of their potential benefits
- examples of successful Local and Regional Authorities actions, plans, project devoted to promote the development and use of Space and GIS Technologies for local communities benefits.

Participants are invited to contribute with oral, poster or practical presentations.
Examples for successful application of more than one method and mean are also welcome. Results of projects covering a wider variety of education and outreach activities will be also appreciated if however related to the main session topics.
