Many new data, methods and modeling techniques have been developed and applied in various aspects of geosciences.
The wide range methods and techniques include information systems and technology, global position system (GPS), digital image analysis, fuzzy set theory for geosciences, spatial interpolation, analysis of geophysical data, GIS-based models, high resolution geological models, data visualization and format, 3D sedimentology, change detection from remote sensing, pattern recognition, time series analysis, data storage…. etc.
The aim of this session is to present the latest researches and case studies related to various data analysis, methods and modeling techniques, and demonstrate their applications from the various fields of earth sciences like: hydrology, geology and paleogeomorphology, to geophysics, seismology, environmental and climate change. Oral or Poster presentations related to the topic are welcome.
Selected papers will be published in a special issue of the peer reviewed journal "Pattern Recognition in Physics, PRP" http://www.pattern-recognition-in-physics.net/home.html
