Climate Sensitivity (co-organized)

Climate sensitivity is a quantity that is extensively used to quantify the impact of increasing atmospheric CO2-concentrations on the global mean temperature. It cannot be measured directly but has to be estimated from observations of past climate states and/or climate models. It is thus a quite uncertain quantity, both because of uncertainties in the climate reconstructions, and due to different feedbacks on many different time scales that influence climate sensitivity.

We encourage contributions that investigate feedbacks within the climate system and their impact on climate sensitivity. We also welcome contributions on innovative ideas of how to assess the impact of atmospheric CO2 on global temperature as well as studies on a potential state-dependency of climate sensitivity.
