CL5.3 Regional climate modeling, including CORDEX |
Convener: Filippo Giorgi | Co-Convener: Raymond Arritt |
Regional Climate Models (RCMs) have become important tools for regional climate studies and for the generation of climate information at the regional to local scales. In particular, the COordinated Regional Downscaling EXperiment (CORDEX) is a reference framework for the RCM community and has shown an enormous progress in the last few years. In this session papers are welcome on developments in RCM research (particularly concerning very high resolution experiments and the simulation of extremes)
and on contributions to the CORDEX program, including studies of both model performance and regional climate projections over different CORDEX domains.
