Isotope techniques for revisiting water cycling in catchments (co-organized)
Convener: Philippe Negrel  | Co-Convener: Emmanuelle Petelet-Giraud

Pollution, droughts, floods, ground-surface water connection, erosion processes are among the most structuring elements in catchments. Isotopes are largely used to trace water provenance, recharge processes, geochemical reactions, catchment transit times, to quantify flow paths and coupled ecohydrological processes. Contributions related to the application of classical isotopes and more recent developed ones to determine the sources, dynamics and chemistry of water with the goal of managing the quantity/quality of water, to present new methods in tracer hydrology to improve models, to specify external influences from human activities, like agriculture and its influence on soil organic matter, erosion, water and nutrient use efficiency as well as global change (erosion, weathering rate, water transfer) in catchments are welcome.
