Poster Summaries & DiscussionsPSD20.10

Thhis symposium reviews the dynamic processes related to the lithosphere that may lead to extension, rifting and different modes of basin formation. The symposium also includes a topical session on dynamic topography and the interplay between erosion, tectonics, subduction, and mantle convection in shaping the surface expression of geological activity.
The contributions given are based on a wide variety of methods and study targets, including geologic, tectonic, seismic, and geophysical methods, and not least integrative studies based on a whole suite of methods for understanding dynamic processes in the lithosphere.

The symposium is in honour of Dr. Peter Ziegler, who was a pioneer in integrating geoscientific methods into comprehensive models of lithosphere evolution. Peter Ziegler passed away in July of 2013.
