Uncertainty (UA) and/or sensitivity analysis (SA) is regarded nowadays as a necessary part of any mathematical and statistical model building and validation before that is used in performing any kind of analysis. Today, there is a wide range of practices implemented for performing UA/SA analyses extensively applied in a variety of applications in the field of geosciences.

The purpose of this session is to gather scientific researchers related to the topics of UA/SA, aiming to highlight ongoing research investigations and new applications particularly in the field of geosciences. In this framework, original works concerned with the development or exploitation of diverse methods applied to different types of data (e.g. measurements) or modelling approaches (e.g. simulation models, remote sensing algorithms) are welcomed for oral or poster presentation. Both applied and theoretical research contributions furthering knowledge on UA/SA methods implementation and models’ or algorithms’ related scientific investigations in all disciplines of geosciences are encouraged.

Selected contributions will be included to the relevant book that is being prepared by some of the session organisers.
