Morphology-independent aerosol particle mass classification—the CPMA
Convener: Martin Irwin
Mon, 13 Apr, 10:30–13:15

We present a short course on the Centrifugal Particle Mass Analyser (CPMA), which classifies particles by their mass-to-charge ratio, independent of particle morphology and composition, allowing for example particle density to be determined. The CPMA can be used as a fundamental standard for calibrating instruments which respond to single particle mass, or with additional instrumentation, as part of a fundamental mass concentration standard.

Public information: This short-course will comprise two (identical) talks, spaced evenly throughout the session (estimated 11am and 12pm start times).

Questions at the end of each presentation are encouraged; time also allowed for additional scientific discussions.
