Benthic foraminifera are widely applied in studies focusing on ecology, chronostratigraphy and paleoenvironmental reconstructions. This session invites researchers working with modern and fossil benthic foraminifera distribution, evolution, ecology, and geochemistry. The session welcomes contributions focusing on the application of both smaller and larger benthic foraminifera as a proxy to assess the environment, monitor environmental changes, biostratigraphy and to reconstruct the palaeoenvironment, climate and sea-level changes.
