The last decade, severe structural damages such as building settlement, lifeline failures and quay wall displacements were induced due to soil liquefaction. Such structural damages were triggered by the Canterbury Earthquake Sequence 2010-2011, Great East Japan 2011, Emilia Romagna 2012 and Cephalonia 2014 earthquakes. The purpose of this session is to provide to the researchers the opportunity to present their work concerning the assessment of liquefaction susceptibility, the evaluation of the liquefaction potential and the mitigation of the liquefaction seismic hazard. Case studies from recent earthquakes and studies from other places focusing on liquefaction phenomena are expected. Furthermore, contributions can be addressed issues focusing on new methodologies proposed to be applied in order to investigate and mitigate liquefaction hazard.
