Recent innovations in science and policy towards a sustainable mineral development future
Convener: Christopher Keane  | Co-Conveners: Vitor Correia , Maeve Boland

A number of initiatives are underway to build a sustainable future for the production of raw materials. This session seeks to bring together the innovative efforts in both the technical and policy worlds that are leading us to environmentally, economic, and human sustainable raw materials development. With projects like the EU-funded International Raw Materials Observatory (INTRAW) project developing a knowledge system of global raw material best practices, and the geoscience community-driven Resourcing Future Generations identifying critical research questions for sustainable mineral development, the technical and policy realms need to being to integrate their discussions.
