Carbon compounds play a crucial role in all parts of the Earth system, influencing e.g. the hydrological cycle, the Earth’s radiative balance and ecosystem health. This session aims at bringing together different perspectives on the interactions between the carbon cycle and climate including linkages to land ecosystems, water resources, ocean chemistry as well as atmospheric composition and dynamics. We welcome contributions studying these relationships in the past, present and future. We encourage studies focusing on different spatial and temporal scales, different carbon compounds and ranging from molecular level processes to global climate.
