This session brings together observational and modeling studies that improve the current understanding of cryosphere-carbon-climate (CCC) interactions across boundaries of ecosystems/earth systems compartments in the Northern high latitudes. We particularly invite contributions on: 1) research linking terrestrial carbon cycle processes with lateral export into rivers and oceans and related source/sink processes in both aquatic and oceanic ecosystems; 2) the relative roles of remobilization of subsea permafrost or gas hydrates, input from coastal erosion and lateral transport through rivers for the carbon and methane budgets of the Arctic, and potential interactions with the global carbon cycle and climate; and 3) the combination of such insights into estimates of the carbon budget of the entire Arctic, or for specific key regions like the East Siberian Arctic Ocean, as well as their improved representation in process-based model formulations
