Using Ice core chronologies: Dos and don'ts
Conveners: Nanna Bjørnholt Karlsson , Julie Durcan
Wed, 20 Apr, 19:00–20:00

Ice core records are extensively used to assess the timing of past climate events and to compare with other paleo-climate records. This course is an introduction to ice core science with an emphasis on how ice cores are dated, what are the main uncertainties and what to be aware of when comparing with other records. The course is aimed at researchers who do not work directly in the ice-core community, but who find themselves using ice core data for comparison with other climate data and time-series and would like an introduction to what ice core records can and cannot provide.
Speaker: Assoc. Prof. Anders M. Svensson, Centre for Ice and Climate, University of Copenhagen.
