EVER-EST: creating a virtual research environment (VRE) for the Earth Sciences (public)
Convener: Helen Glaves
Wed, 26 Apr, 10:30–12:00

Within the Earth Sciences there are a range of major challenges such as climate change, ensuring the availability and sustainability of natural resources, understanding natural hazards etc. that increasingly necessitate inter-disciplinary research that is often conducted across diverse geographic locations.

The EVER-EST project (European Virtual Environment for Research – Earth Science Themes) aims to create a virtual research environment (VRE) that supports distributed research by providing innovative tools and services focused on the requirements of Earth Science communities.

This session will illustrate the activities of the EVER-EST project including a demonstration of the tools and services being made available as part of the virtual research environment (VRE) under development.
