CL5.06 Regional climate modeling, including CORDEX |
Convener: Filippo Giorgi | Co-Conveners: Raymond Arritt , Ivan Guettler |
Regional climate modeling (RCM) has been a rapidly growing area of research, and the recently implemented COordinated Regional Downscaling EXperiment (CORDEX) has provided a global framework for RCM activities. In particular, the phase II CORDEX activities are currently being discussed, which include the development of CORDEX Flagship Pilot Studies (FPS) and the design of a new common experiment design for regions worldwide. This session calls for papers on state-of-the-art development and application of RCM and CORDEX activities, including the development of coupled regional climate system models, high resolution modeling, extremes, the production of multi-model ensemble projections over individual or multiple regions and activities related to different FPSs.
