Shortly after the year 2000, a several satellites were brought into orbit that have provided global data on upper tropospheric and stratospheric water vapour, with some of the satellite instruments still in operation. In order to allow for making best use of the rich data set produced by these instruments, the quality of the data records has been assessed within the WCRP/SPARC activity WAVAS-II, and biases, variability, and drifts have been quantified. We invite contributions on work related to the quality assessment of satellite records of middle atmospheric water vapour, approaches to merge data records for generating longer-term time series, work on ground-truth and other measurements that help to assess satellite data records, and any other work involving satellite data records on water vapour.
