Does your science involve massive point cloud data processing? This session will show some techniques for making the products you need from point cloud data using the open-source Point Data Abstraction Library (PDAL, http://pdal.io). It will cover setup using docker or OSGeo4W, and a walk through some fundamental processes - DSM creation, point cloud cleaning and filtering, and ground classification. And then visualisation using open source tools (QGIS, cloudcompare). Enough to get started and get exploring.
