Reanalysis provides a powerful framework for integrating, assessing, and reconciling climate observations from different components of the global observing system. A reanalysis provides physically and dynamically coherent estimates of geophysical parameters, which are consistent with observations, but also with the laws of physics. ERA-CLIM reanalysis products include:

- An extended climate reanalysis spanning the 20th century (ERA-20C), using surface observations only;
- Preparation of a new reanalysis of the modern satellite era for near-real time climate monitoring;
- Use of ensemble techniques to provide uncertainty information;
- Development of a web-based Observation Feedback Archive.
