Biometeorology - From Cities to Ecosystems, from Pollen to People
Conveners: Susanne Jochner-Oette, Michael Leuchner, Johanna Jetschni

Climate change is reshaping the complex interactions between the atmosphere and ecosystems, influencing human health, and creating new challenges for biometeorological research.
This session brings together different perspectives on how changing climatic conditions affect biological systems and human health and well-being across spatial and temporal scales. Contributions may address urban climate and thermal stress, human health, aerobiology, plant phenology, ecosystem processes as well as related fields at the interface between weather, climate and living organisms.

A particular focus is placed on interactions and feedbacks: how climate change modifies biological processes, exposure patterns and ecosystem responses, and how these changes in turn influence human environments and health. By connecting approaches from urban biometeorology, aerobiology, phenology and related disciplines, the session aims to highlight common mechanisms, emerging risks and opportunities for interdisciplinary research.
