Lakes constitute powerful sedimentary archives of climate over different time-scales. They are particularly useful for tracking short-term climate changes. High-resolution data acquisition coupled with well-constrained age model are requested for reconstructions of regional climate variability.

For this session we invite oral and poster contributions that emphasize abrupt climatic variations from lacustrine sediments during the historical time, the Holocene and Late Glacial transition or over the Quaternary. Contributions dealing with calibration of high resolution methodological approaches, like X-Ray Fluorescence core scaner, are especially welcome. This session should also include a discussion about the validation of the climate reconstruction against meteorological / climatological observation. Moreover, we would also be glad to receive contribution relate to the modelling of lake behaviour in response to climate change and forward modelling of lacustrine proxies.
