Fissured and karstic rocks host some of the most prolific aquifers. Effective strategies for the management and protection of water resources can only be based on a sound understanding of flow, transport, and reaction processes in these aquifers as well as on reliable methods for hydrogeological characterisation and prediction.
This session seeks contributions related to all aspects of the hydrogeology of fissured and karstic aquifers including karst development, conceptual models of fissured and karstic aquifers, new field and modelling methods, vulnerability assessment, and water management. We particularly welcome papers that provide links between innovative conceptual or numerical models and field data.
