This session is concerned with the nonlinear dynamics of internal (or/and inertial) waves with applications to the Earth's ocean and atmosphere. Waves and vortices can be considered as coherent structures in quasi two-dimensional flows that occur in confined flows such as in thin films, rotating and/or stratified fluids. Topics that
will be dealt with are the NL dynamics of thin fronts, coherent structures, their mutual interaction as well as their interaction with waves. Numerical, theoretical and experimental contributions are welcome.
