Georisks connected with large dam projects
Poster Programme
 / Attendance Fri, 07 May, 13:30–15:00  / Halls X/Y

Large dams exist in many parts of the world. They cause a strong ecological and socio-ecological impact, not only in the reservoir areas. Resettlements and land use change are the consequences. Furthermore, these dams and their reservoirs are exposed to various geohazards, especially landslides, soil erosion, earthquakes, flooding, and sedimentation.
In this session we invite researchers from different disciplines in geoscience to contribute new methodological approaches to monitor, analyse and forecast the geohazards connected with dam projects. Special emphasis will be paid to field investigations, modelling, and remote sensing. Case studies are also welcome.
