This session is open to different approaches of the study of the turbulence in the atmosphere: theoretical, observations and field experiments, numerical modelling and laboratory experiments. A proper understanding and description of turbulence in the atmosphere and in the environment is very important in order to deal correctly with transport processes, relevant both as parameterization for meteorological and atmospheric models, and for air quality applications. The purpose of this session is to discuss the importance of turbulence at different scales and its highly nonlinear processes associated which are present in topics as: Observational Methods in the Atmospheric Boundary Layer, Stable Boundary Layers, Large Eddy Simulations, Boundary Layer Processes in Numerical Models, Boundary Layer Clouds, etc.
