To celebrate the 400th anniversary of Galileo's discovery of the Galilean Moons, this session will particularly emphasize reviews and discussions on different aspects of magnetospheric interactions of Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. Their similarities and dissimilarities will be examined making use of the scientific results covering the era of previous missions to the Jovian system including Pioneer 10/11, Voyager 1/2, Galileo, Ulysses, Cassini, and New Horizons. The interconnections between these Galilean Moons will be especially addressed with a view to provide support to the upcoming Juno mission and the planning of synergistic measurements in the joint NASA-ESA EJSM mission by the Jupiter Europa Orbiter and Jupiter Ganymede Orbiter, and the Jupiter Magnetospheric Orbiter of JAXA. Comparative discussions of similar interconnections within the Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune systems are also welcome.
