Surface processes in East Asia are highly dependent on the influence of active tectonic movement along the Eurasian continental margin and the Asian monsoon system. These driving factors create unique environments which we intent to focus on in this session.
Contributions dealing with surface processes and related problems as well as particular methodological aspects are welcome. This encompasses studies from all terrestrial morphological environments, such as rivers, hillslopes and coasts. The emphasis is on landscape history and changes in late Quaternary morphodynamics and their documentation in sedimentary archives. This includes the assessment of human impact and landuse change. Additionally, the question of changes in dust transport and sedimentation is of special interest.
