The Petrus Peregrinus Medal is presented to Jean Pierre Valet for his outstanding contribution to paleomagnetic data acquisition from sediments and lavas essential for interpretation of paleosecular, excursional and transitional regimes of the Earth's magnetic field over the last millions of years.
