Mechanisms and processes of landslides induced by water (co-organized)
|Convener: Hiroshi Fukuoka | Co-Conveners: Paolo Frattini , Giovanni Crosta , Nejan Huvaj|
The most common trigger of landslides is water mostly under extreme weather condition in the age of global climate change. For several decades the key role that water plays in reducing effective stress has been understood. Water also plays a key role in the dynamics of debris movement after failure, and in the mobilisation of sediment generated by landslides. This session seeks to explore the state of the art as well as most advanced achievement in research with respect to landslides induced by water, and to all other aspects of the interation between water and slope failure, movement and remobilisation.
