Earthquakes represent the sudden release of slowly accumulated strain energy and in consequence provide direct evidence of active tectonic processes. In the last years, the joint use of hypocentral distribution, earthquake focal mechanisms, geodetic observations of strain accumulation and geologic information on recent tectonics made possible to obtain detailed information about the seismotectonics of a region. This session is focused on the presentation of new results and approaches for the estimation of seismotectonics models.
