This session is open to papers from all corners of the globe seeking to cross national and continental borders to assess, implement and coordinate the use of technologies and policies in the environment sector. This session will support the standard EGU technical sessions by adding themes of environment research capacity, collaboration models and regulation and policies. Papers that fall into the following broad categories are invited:

i) mapping of national/ regional environmental research field strengths and strategies
ii) national/ regional environment policy and legislation
iii) road-mapping and foresight studies
iv) cooperation strategies and methodologies

This session is supported by SPRING (Scoping China's Environmental Research Excellence and Infrastructure) and E-URAL (European Union and Russia Link). SPRING and E-URAL are EU FP7 funded projects that are dedicated to assessing and raising awareness of current regional research priorities and capacities.
