Meeting the challenge for international multilingual graduate education in Earth Sciences – lessons leant from the first stages of the INVOGE EU-US ATLANTIS programme (public)
Convener: Benjamin van Wyk de Vries
Mon, 04 Apr, 12:15–13:15  / Room SM6

We will present the results from the first two years of the INVOGE (International Geological Masters in Volcanology and Geotechniques) to provide an introduction to a debate on the following topics.

1. Mobility around the world in Earth Science graduate programmes – what can be achieved and how to do it?
2. Virtual courses, and web based resources in international mobility
3. The linguistic debate – multilingual graduate studies, what do these achieve and how to tackle monolingualism
4. Sustainability in international masters programmes.
5. How to rationalise geoscience curricula internationally

Each topic will be presented before the EGU during April on the INVOGE website, and discussion will be continued after the EGU, channelled through the site as well.
