This session is aimed at teaching scientists how to best communicate their research to journalists and the general public. There will be three presentations focusing on writing lay summaries and giving tips and advice on how to communicate science with the media. They will last for 15 minutes each and will be followed by a Q&A session of 45 minutes. Panelists include Heike Langenberg (chief editor, Nature Geoscience), Maria Cruz (associate editor for astronomy, Science Magazine), Christina Reed (Earth producer, Discovery News).
