This session will explore the paradigms for, and implementations of, addressing the full lifecycle of data. Geoscientists collect and generate vast amount of heterogeneous data that need to be managed in the context of a lifecycle. This session will present efforts towards addressing the full lifecycle of data ranging from, but not limited to, conceptualization of a data lifecycle, access, evaluation, disposal, preservation to reuse and transformation. In an age when technology has made it increasing easier to take observations, collect physical samples or generate simulated data, strategic approaches to address the curation lifecycle of data are necessary to advance science and maintain scientific integrity.
