Poster Summaries & DiscussionsPSD19.9

The session deals with all aspects of nonlinear dynamics of the coastal zone, including i) modern physical and mathematical theories of nonlinear water waves; ii) manifestations of marine natural hazards (tsunami, freak waves, storm surges, impact of high-speed ferries, anthropogenic pollution, etc) in coastal waters; iii) wave breaking, shoaling, runup, overtopping and interaction with coastal structures; iv) beach evolution and beach processes; v) nonlinear internal waves and mixing in stratified flow; vi) wave-bottom interaction and sediment transport; vii) rip currents and water circulation near the coast; viii) nonlinear resonance phenomena in coastal waters; ix) numerical and experimental modeling of nonlinear processes in the coastal zone; x) analysis and processing of data of observations, which demonstrate the nonlinear character of these processes.
