This session hopes to bring many different geo-communities together to discuss ALL aspects of the Jurassic and Cretaceous world. The Jurassic and Cretaceous has received a considerable amount of attention recently with the discussion of ice in a greenhouse world, methane clathrate events (akin to the PETM), large igneous provinces and its affect on floral and faunal communities, oceanic circulation, the formation and development of black shales and climate modelling. All these topics and many more are requested to make this an over-arching session on the Jurassic and Cretaceous world, and in particular aspects dealing with the evolution of the Earth system, the climate and environment during this time interval.
