This session is devoted to the detection of coherent masses of fluid in environmental and geophysical flows. We seek contributions from theoreticians, experimentalists and researcher in dynamical systems. The objective is to discuss the methods that can efficiently identify transport barriers and mixing processes as well as the dynamics of Lagrangian tracers (such as buoys and contaminants, chemicals, organisms, temperature, bioluminescence, moisture,...)
Eulerian and Lagrangian Turbulence methods leading to a better understanding of the cascade processes in non-homogeneous and realistic environmental turbulence are sought.
