In this session we would like to address the challenge of linking geodiversity and geoheritage to earth science research. Although the importance of both is increasingly recognized, they are still not fully addressed in scientific research and education. Expertise and research from various disciplines should be combined to improve awareness of and knowledge on geodiversity and geoheritage by a wide public, including (university) education and the tourism sector.

We invite papers related to issues of geodiversity and geoheritage assessment, education to geoheritage, geotourism and heritage tourism, geoconservation, as well as spatial planning and design issues or best practices.
