EuroSDR is a not-for-profit organisation linking National Mapping and Cadastral Agencies with Research Institutes and Universities for the purpose of applied research in spatial data provision, management and delivery. EuroSDR performs application oriented benchmarks of new technologies. Interoperability for geospatial information and emerging Spatial Data Infrastructures in the European context (INSPIRE) are of core interest to EuroSDR.
In this meeting common aims of the two communities (EGU and EuroSDR) and possibilities of mutual support shall be identified in order to strengthen developments in spatial data understanding, analysis, and politics.
To stimulate discussion, current research and benchmark projects of EuroSDR will be presented briefly (e.g. Persistent Test Bed for Interoperability, new SDI related implementations, Dense Image Matching for Surface Description), which will be confronted with the ESSI goals and research questions.
